Looking to try a quick, fun and crafty sewing project for a good cause? Why not join us in our monthly charity sewalong?

We'll feature a new charity project for you to try on the Echidna Sewing blog each month. Projects are quick, easy and fun and you can donate your creation to our nominated charity at the end. You'll also be in the running for a monthly prize when you share your a photo of your creation with the Echidna Sewing community on Facebook.

Brother and the National Breast Cancer Foundation are asking everyone to sew a pink apron for individuals registering for Pink Ribbon Breakfast events.

Animal coats

Create a number of coats for animals housed in shelters nationwide this winter. The Animal Welfare League Australia will distribute these to shelters and organisations they work with.

Clothing for kids

Act for Kids provide free therapy and support services to children and families suffering from child abuse and neglect. Create and donate one or more pieces of clothing in this project. 

Aviation themed quilts, mug rugs and table runners

The Royal Flying Doctor Service provides primary health care and 24 hour emergency service to people over an area of 7.3 million square kilometres. Sew an aviation-themed circle/square quilt, mug rug or table runner for their patients to use and for auction at their fundraising events.

Cat & dog toys, kangaroo pouches, koala mittens and more

The RSPCA works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. Create and donate one of these items or others they need to protect, care for and rehome animals. 

Cuddle bunnies

Cuddle bunnies are needed for newborns and their mums. One is given to the mother and placed on her chest to pick up her scent and the other is placed close to the baby. The hearts are then swapped so monther and baby are left with each other's scented bunny.
