Sew your own reusable grocery bag
Date Posted:17 June 2020
As you would know, the Queensland government banned the supply of single-use lightweight plastic shopping bags in July 2018. You too can join in and do your part in reducing the plastic pollution on our environment and especially on our marine life by creating your very own reusable grocery bags!
Included in the project is the bag and bag case so you can easily store this in your handbag, car or pocket. This project is perfect for beginner sewers.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Sewing machine
- Material 60cm height x 50cm width
Consider using Cotton or Hemp, which are both environmentally friendly fabrics
- Bias Binding x 1m
- Button or Button Snap

Great gift ideaBy: PETER TURNER on 17 June 2020I will certainly knock up a few of these as gifts as well as for myself. I will use hemp as cotton is not really environmentally friendly. It uses massive amounts of water taken from the Murray Darling river system.
