2, 3 or 4-Thread Overlock Stitching
The MyLock 554D lets you sew with 2, 3 or 4 threads, giving you flexibility depending on your project, from lightweight fabrics needing a neat seam to heavier materials requiring strong, durable overlocking.
Flatlocking and Rolled-Hemming Capabilities
This overlocker isn’t just for seams: it can perform flatlock stitches (great for decorative seams or athletic wear) and 3-thread rolled hems, which give garments and home-sewn items a professional, finished look.
Automatic Colour-Coded Threading with Threading Chart
Threading is much easier thanks to a built-in threading chart and colour-coded guides. Even the lower looper has been redesigned for easier access — which saves time and reduces frustration, especially if you rethread often.
Adjustable Stitch Length & Cutting Width
You can adjust stitch length from 1 mm up to 5 mm, and cutting width between 3.1 mm and 7.3 mm (depending on needle position). This means you’ve got fine control over seam strength and edge finishes; useful whether you’re doing delicate fabrics or thick seams.
Differential Feed (0.5 to 2.25 Ratio)
With an adjustable differential feed, the 554D helps handle tricky fabrics like knits or stretchy materials by preventing puckering or stretching. This feature is a must for anyone working with stretch fabrics or multiple layers.
Retractable Upper Knife + Built-In Thread Cutter
The retractable upper knife gives you the option to disengage fabric trimming when you don’t need it, and the built-in thread cutter, conveniently located on the faceplate, makes finishing seams neat and easy.
High Sewing Speed (Up to 1,300 SPM)
If you want to power through projects, the 554D’s 1,300 stitches per minute speed means you can sew quickly; perfect for garments, homeware, or batch sewing.
Easy Foot Pressure Adjustment
Being able to adjust the presser foot pressure means the machine adapts to whatever fabric you throw at it — soft knits, slippery satins, structured denim and everything in between. Too much pressure can stretch or warp fine fabrics, while too little can cause uneven feeding. This feature gives you the control to dial it in perfectly, helping fabric glide smoothly under the foot and ensuring neat, balanced stitching on every seam.
Waste Tray & Carry Handle
