From delicate rolled hems to sturdy four-thread seams, it handles everyday sewing and tricky stretch fabrics with the same calm confidence. 2, 3 or 4-Thread Overlock Stitching
The ML654D handles 2-, 3- or 4-thread stitches depending on what you need. Use 2-thread for delicate rolled hems or fine edges, 3-thread for standard seam finishing or lighter fabrics, and 4-thread when you want maximum strength and durability (great for knits, seams under stress or heavy-duty seams).
Rolled Hemming & Flatlocking
Beyond standard overlocks, the MyLock 654D also does rolled hems and flatlock stitches; handy for decorative finishes, lightweight fabrics, or clean hems on scarves, napkins, garments and more. The easy conversion to rolled hem means you don’t need to fiddle with major adjustments to foot, plate or tension settings.
8-Piece Feed Dog System & Enhanced Presser Foot Design
The ML654D uses an upgraded 8-piece feed dog system delivering smoother and more reliable fabric feeding. Combined with a longer, redesigned presser foot (less curve up at front, grooves underneath to prevent slippage), the machine grips fabric layers firmly and feeds them evenly, whether you’re working with fine silks or heavy layered fabrics.
Easy Threading with Colour-Coded Guides & Threading Chart
The 654D uses colour-coded thread guides and includes a threading chart inside the front cover, so you can follow the threads step-by-step. Lower-looper guides are also redesigned for easy access, making the whole threading process less fiddly and far more user-friendly.
Adjustable Stitch Length & Cutting Width
Stitch length is adjustable from 1mm up to 5mm, while cutting width can be set between roughly 3.1 mm and 7.3 mm (depending on needle position). That flexibility helps you tailor seams exactly to your project, whether you want a tight, trimmed finish or a wider, more secure seam allowance.
Differential Feed (0.5 – 2.25 Ratio)
This is a key feature if you work with stretch fabrics, knits, or overly stretchy or puckery materials. The adjustable differential feed (from 0.5 to 2.25) lets you control how the fabric is fed, slow or fast, so you can prevent stretching, puckering or distortion. It’s also useful for gathering or subtly stretching fabric if needed.
Adjustable Foot Pressure
You can adjust the presser foot pressure to suit different types of fabric; lighter pressure for delicate fabrics, heavier for heavyweights. That flexibility helps make stitch quality consistent, no matter what you're sewing.
Retractable Upper Knife
This overlocker includes a retractable upper knife, which you can disengage via an easy-access dial. This is very handy when you want to sew without trimming, for example during basting, decorative topstitching, or when working on delicate fabrics where you don’t want the blade cutting.
Thread Cutter
A built-in thread cutter sits conveniently on the face plate, making trimming threads after a seam quick and neat. It’s one of those small touches that simply speeds up your workflow and keeps everything tidy.
Quick-Change Rolled Hem
Need a rolled hem? The MyLock 654D handles conversion quickly, without requiring you to change the needle plate, presser foot, or tension settings. That saves time and fuss, ideal when you want to switch between seam types often or with different fabrics.
1- and 2-Needle Operation & Flexible Needle System (HAx1SP)
The machine works with either one or two needles (the needle system is HAx1SP). This allows for versatile sewing: one-needle for narrow hems or edges, two-needle for stronger seams or wider seam allowances. Good flexibility for garment sewing, stretch fabrics and multiple project types.
Comprehensive Accessory Set Included
The 654D comes with a full complement of accessories; needles, spool caps, tweezers, screwdrivers, waste tray, spare knife, nets, thread nets, oil, etc. Everything you need to get started is in the box, which means no last-minute scavenger hunts for parts or tools.
