This presser foot is used for stretch fabrics (such as knits), hard-to-feed materials (such as vinyl-coated fabric) and unevenly fed material (such as quilting or fabric with a nap). It has an upper feed dog that works in tandem with the sewing machine's feed dog to feed the material and prevent bunched stitching and uneven feeding. By inserting the guide bar, this presser foot can be used to quilt equally spaced seams.
