Personalise your sewing with four built-in lettering styles including Block, Script, Broadway and Symbol. With support for 12 alphabets, the Skyline 8 gives you extensive options for names, initials, labels, messages and decorative lettering.
11 Built-In Buttonholes
Choose from 11 built-in buttonholes for a variety of garments, fabrics and sewing projects, giving you plenty of options for creating neatly finished buttonholes directly from the machine.
91 Needle Positions
Fine-tune stitch placement with 91 needle positions adjustable in precise 0.1mm increments. This level of control is particularly useful for topstitching, edge stitching, patchwork, quilting and working with precise seam allowances.
Easy Needle Threading
Janome's Superior Needle Threader 2 helps make threading the needle quick and convenient, reducing fiddly setup when changing thread or preparing for your next project.
Accurate Stitch Regulator Enabled
The Skyline 8 is enabled for Janome's Accurate Stitch Regulator, helping maintain consistent stitch lengths during free-motion quilting. Activating ASR is simple: connect the compatible ASR system, lower the feed dogs and begin sewing.

ASR Passive Mode
The Skyline 8 introduces an additional Passive Mode when sewing with the Accurate Stitch Regulator. In Passive Mode, the needle stops when the fabric stops moving, giving you another option for controlling free-motion quilting alongside the standard Cruise Mode.
Floating Mode
Floating Mode lets you adjust presser foot pressure and height without affecting stitch tension. With an adjustable foot height from 0mm to 4mm when using compatible straight stitches, it can help fabrics and layered projects move more freely beneath the presser foot.
Automatic Presser Foot Pressure
The Skyline 8 automatically controls presser foot pressure, reducing the need to manually adjust pressure as you move between different fabrics and sewing techniques.
Automatic Presser Foot Lift
The automatic presser foot lift reduces the need to manually raise and lower the presser foot during your sewing workflow, making fabric handling easier when stopping, turning or repositioning your project.
AcuFeed Fabric Feeding System
Janome's AcuFeed system provides enhanced control when sewing multiple layers or fabrics that can shift while sewing. It is particularly useful for quilting, matching patterns and handling layered projects where even fabric feeding is important.
Ruler Work Mode
Explore ruler-guided quilting directly on the Skyline 8 with dedicated Ruler Work Mode. A ruler work foot is supplied, giving you the tools to begin creating controlled lines, curves and quilting motifs with compatible quilting rulers.

Top Thread Sensor
The upper thread sensor helps monitor the top thread while you sew, providing an added level of reassurance during longer seams and detailed projects.
Adjustable Bobbin Thread Sensor
Monitor the remaining bobbin thread with the built-in bobbin thread sensor. The warning level can be adjusted through the machine's settings, with six selectable levels: Off, 0.5m, 1m, 2m, 3m or 4m.
Straight Stitch Needle Plate Included
The supplied straight stitch needle plate provides additional fabric support around the needle when straight stitching. It is particularly useful for fine fabrics, patchwork and precise piecing.
One-Touch Needle Plate Release
Remove the needle plate quickly using the convenient one-touch release lever. This makes changing needle plates easier and also gives you quick access to the bobbin area when cleaning your machine.
HP Needle Plate & Foot Compatibility
The Skyline 8 is compatible with Janome's professional-grade HP needle plate and HP presser feet, giving you the option to expand the machine for specialised straight stitching and precision sewing techniques.

Advanced 7-Piece Feed Dog System
The Skyline 8 uses Janome's newer 7-piece feed dog design to provide reliable contact with the fabric and help material feed smoothly beneath the presser foot across a wide range of sewing applications.
Drop Feed
Lower the feed dogs when you want to control fabric movement yourself. Drop feed is essential for techniques such as free-motion quilting and works together with the Skyline 8's advanced quilting capabilities.
Stitch Composer Software
Create your own stitch patterns on a Windows computer using Janome's downloadable Stitch Composer software, giving you another way to personalise projects beyond the machine's extensive built-in stitch collection.

AcuSpark2 App
