Batting, otherwise known as wadding, is often made from polyester, cotton or wool and is used in projects such as quilts, handbags, placemats, toiletry bags, pencil cases and more. It adds shape, thickness and a layer of cushioning to your projects. The material of the batting/wadding also provides quilts with warmth and an insulation layer between fabrics.
