Slide-on frame
The slide-on frame is designed for quick and secure attachment. To use it:
- Simply slide the hoop into the embroidery arm.
- Lock it in place by pressing the lever down. This type of frame is user-friendly and commonly found in domestic embroidery machines. The hoop slides into the embroidery arm and locks in place by pressing the lever down.

Clip-on frame with pins
The clip-on frame with pins offers a secure connection through a pin-based mechanism. To attach:
- Align the metal pins on the side of the hoop with the pinholes on the embroidery arm.
- Clip them securely into place.
- This type is often used in models where extra stability is required.

Clip-on frame without pins
Some Brother machines use a clip-on frame that does not have pins on the hoop itself. Instead:
- Identify the metal pins on the embroidery arm.
- Use the pinholes on the hoop to clip it into place. This variation ensures a firm hold while simplifying the hooping process.

Multi-needle and free-arm frames
Multi-needle and free arm machines are compatible with various types of hoops, including slide-in and screw-on hoops.
