Compact MuVit Digital Dual Feed Foot
The Brother Muvit is a digital dual-feed foot that makes it possible to feed a wide range of fabrics (such as denim or silk) with great ease. It provides better visibility and accommodates for thicker materials, with the ability to stitch forwards and backwards. It is compatible with over 100 stitch designs in the machine. The innovative digitally-controlled direct motor driven foot may be adjusted from the touch screen to accommodate different textiles. Simply use the plus and minus keys to choose the required feed, then save the setting to memory for future use. When dual feed isn’t required the foot can be switched off or easily removed.
This digitally controlled direct motor-driven accessory foot is provided for challenging projects that require particular handling, so you can be confident that you'll be able to move it smoothly with only a touch.
Sew Straight Laser Vision Guide
A cutting-edge laser guide that creates a flawless straight line on your fabric. For straight sewing, hems, piecing, pin tucking, and cording, simply guide your fabric along the line. The LCD screen can be used to alter the position of the easy-to-use laser guide within a 14-mm range. Use the new V-Sonic pen to choose where you want the guideline and the laser line will appear exactly where you need it.
V-Sonic Pen
Easy finishing for sewing
Simply tap the position where you wish to stop sewing with the V-Sonic pen, and the machine will stop at the chosen end point. Furthermore, the machine will automatically modify the stitch to match the space – so you can relax, knowing that the machine will instinctively stop at the end point without leaving a decorative stitch unfinished.
Needle position
Set the straight stitch needle position on the fabric by simply pointing the V-Sonic pen where you wish to sew, and the machine will sew on the line.
Adjust zigzag or decorative stitches
Use the V-Sonic pen to adjust the stitch width and position effortlessly by just touching and tapping where you would like the stitch to start. Mark the width of the stitch, then sit back and let the machine handle the rest.
Automatic Height Adjuster (AHA)
The AHA function keeps the presser foot pressure constant and helps maintain uniform stitch length on all fabric thicknesses, resulting in more consistent stitch quality over uneven surfaces.
Computer Compatibility
The BQ3100 takes USB media for adding or storing more stitches with its complete USB connector. Alternatively, attach a USB mouse (not supplied) to the port and use it with the machine's screen. Connect the BQ3100 to your computer for quick and easy software updates.
Built-in Stitches, Buttonhole Styles, and Fonts
This machine features 729 utility and decorative stitches, 14 one-step auto-size buttonhole styles, and 5 fonts for sewing. Plus, you also get an additional 30 designs on a CD, totalling your library to 759 stitches! You’ll have a huge library of creative options to choose from.
My Custom Stitch
You can also be creative with the BQ3100, combining stitches for decorative projects, letters for words, and even name labels and memories for those unique creations for loved ones. Plus, using the ‘My Custom Stitch' feature, you can create your own stitch directly on the LCD display, with the freedom to design any style you like using on-screen editing.
Pivot Function
For quick and easy fabric manipulation and pivoting, the presser foot automatically raises while the needle stays lowered. Turning corners, following curves, and maneuvering around appliqué projects is a breeze for you. A must have for all quilters and sewers.
Automatic needle threading system
Simply glide your thread through the marked path and press the button for quick and easy needle threading.
Bobbin Winder
The machine includes a built-in bobbin winder, allowing you to swiftly and effortlessly load your bobbins with your favourite thread colour!
Knee lifter
To raise and lower the presser foot, use the knee lift and leave your hands free. Ideal for large projects like quilts.
Lockstitch
This is a lock off/reinforcement stitch. When you press this button, the machine will sew 3 to 5 reinforcement stitches at the end of your stitching and then stop.
Drop-in bobbin
Simply drop in a full bobbin, thread in the direction of the arrow, and you're ready to stitch.
LED Lighting and Spacious Work Area
You can illuminate your project with a 10" glow around the needle thanks to the improved LED illumination on the spacious 11.25" workstation.
7 point feed dogs
Superior stitch quality is ensured by the box motion feeding action paired with the 7-point feed dog system. From sheer silk to denim, sew smooth seams on any weight of fabric. It also prevents the material from shrinking or moving throughout the stitching process.
Free motion quilting and thread painting
Remove the feed dogs and install the included free-motion foot, which allows you to guide the fabric freely by hand. The machine is ready to go whether you're quilting a simple pattern or thread painting a complex design.
Automatic thread tension
The tension will adjust automatically based on the stitch you've chosen, so you won't have to worry about it.
Automatic thread trims
At the touch of a button, the upper and lower threads are cut, or the machine can be programmed to cut them automatically for sewing.
Wide Table Included
With this extra-large extension table, you can expand your sewing space. Change needle position, set stitch width, and sew large quilted designs with ease.
Back to beginning key
When sewing character/decorative stitches, you may have finished sewing the pattern but want to repeat it. By using this key, you can return to the beginning of the pattern and sew it again.
Continuous Automatic Pressure System
This feature keeps the presser foot pressure consistent regardless of fabric thickness, ensuring uniform stitch length on all fabrics.

Brother BQ3100 Sewing and Quilting Machine

The video showing how the sewing machine is used is invaluable because even though the instruction book is comprehensive, the video is easier to follow. There was a glitch with the machine delivery, it was delayed from the original day with no explanation and because the courier only advises the day for delivery I had to stay home for two full days and the machine came very late in the afternoon of the second day. The driver was very helpful when he arrived but I would have preferred to have been advised of, say, a two hour time window for delivery avoiding the need to just wait. However, well done to Echidna, a good supplier and I will recommend you if the occasion arises. Russell Spencer

BQ3100
By: MAXINE on 1 November 2024My mum has, for many years raved about what an exceptional machine Brother is. She has always been been a very talented seamstress. I was at a point in my life as to when I could afford a top of the range sewing machine and this is why, after researching the different models, decided on the BQ3100. It has a huge range of stitches and accessories, each one is easy to master, even if you are learning. This machine will make you want to sit in front of it and work on a project. When I chat to my Mum (95 years old and still sewing and independent) I am normally on my days off working with my machine. I am always telling her what a pleasure it is to use this machine, every stitch is as perfect as is the tension. I highly recommend Echidna as your one stop shop for all things sewing.

Amazing machine
By: Dianne on 29 July 2022I am still amazed at all the new skills I am to learn this is a huge jump in abilities from my other machine. It sews with such smooth silence and speed , I love the free motion . So much to learn But seems to explain well in the guides. I have to say I am very disappointed in the flimsy cover it comes with for spending quite a significant dollars to come with a flimsy nylon cover. My $400 Janome had a hard case . I also saw on face book This model product van but decided to shop directly to site with all the scams etc. since spending so much money and I didn’t get a free trolley bag like my sister who went through Facebook. .
